From a Slipcovered Sofa to a Stripey $20 Flower Pot, These Were Your 15 Top Purchases in February

We may earn revenue from the products available on this page and participate in affiliate programs.

Domino readers were all about the deals in February. Whether it was a seasonal refresh sale or Presidents’ Day weekend score, nearly every single one of this month’s top buys featured a discount at some point or another. A few appearances came in the form of launches too good to pass up, like a ‘90s closet comeback from Pottery Barn and an eclectic collection from Anthropologie featuring one colorful linen-covered lamp. Havly Blank Full Towel Set

Full Set, Havly ($77)

As seen in: I Found the Ultimate Bath Towel: Ever-Fluffy, Easy to Hang, and 20% Off

What makes a good towel? Just three things: stylish, absorbent, and hard-wearing. For our shopping editor Morgan Bulman, plushness also comes into play. Add on a handy hanging loop into the mix—one that’s oversize to fit over any knob, hook, or door corner—plus an exclusive Presidents’ Day promo code, and readers were as ready as her to give Havly a try.

While Bulman prefers Havly’s all-white offerings, which are neutral enough to fit in with most bathroom decor or a pre-existing towel collection, there are plenty of different loop colors to choose from (all of which are bleach-proof). We love that past buyers share that they’ve selected a different color for every family member of a household, so no one’s towel gets taken.

As seen in: Our 9 Top Sources for the Best Coffee Mugs, Because You Can Always Use One More

We’re firm believers that you can never have enough coffee mugs, and Domino readers appear to agree. You bought up an assortment of our recommendations, though none more than Perla Valtierra’s statement handles. A bold roast deserves to be served in an equally stunning vessel, and the squiggly grip—the very adornment you may recognize from the ceramicist’s best-selling ribbon vases—is as pretty as it is useful, providing a solid hold. While there’s just one left in the dramatic black glaze at Ssense, there are plenty of other versions available in either an equally eye-catching rosy pink or taller silhouette. Better yet, many are now over 50% off.

Speaking of ceramics on sale, you also loved AYTM’s black-and-white striped vase from an email send, but it’s no longer sold out—this pinky version, on the other hand, is still available and 56% off.

As seen in:This $34 Amazon Checkerboard Rug Makes Picnic and Patio Season Feel Like It’s Already Here

Looks as if early spring-like weather had us all thinking about patio season a little early this year. This $34 tonal checkerboard rug was a reader favorite. While reviewers have placed the green pattern under a pergola and on front porches and patios, we easily see it at home on balconies and terraces, too. Best of all, the number is a you-wouldn’t-have-guessed-it picnic or beach blanket made from durable, heat-treated PVC. Weighing in at less than one pound, most could roll it up and tote it to the park. The only bummer? The green is completely sold out, but you can still scoop up the neutral taupe in a harlequin pattern.

As seen in: 16 Deals of the Week Domino Editors Are Adding to Their Carts

Our style editor Julia Stevens began raving about Food52’s over-the-sink drying rack last fall, but readers waited to buy in when it went on sale this month. Available in slate blue, peppercorn (a warm gray), and smoked salt (a soothing off-white), the silicone-covered stainless steel rack promises to sit securely on any counter surface. And once the chore is done, you can roll it up and stow it in a drawer, a boon if you live in a small space or want to keep your counters as clutter-free as possible. It’s also backed by 600-plus reviews, earning a nearly perfect 5-star rating. One reviewer asks, “Where have you been all my life?”, adding they keep it rolled up at the edge of the sink, “because we basically use it all the time.”

Anthropologie Electra Table Lamp

As seen in: Upholstered Lamps and Mirrors Steal the Show in Anthropologie’s Spring Collection

Upholstered lighting? Domino readers said yes, please—especially when it came to this bright linen table lamp. Diminutive in appearance at 14 inches tall, the groovy orange-and-apple red pairing (and a color-matched cord) caught all of our eyes. While official reviews have yet to come in, we just know this one will cast a cozy glow; it calls for two bulbs instead of one. It’s one of the hundreds from Anthropologie’s eclectic new home collection for spring, which also includes a tapered floor lamp decked out head-to-toe in velvet.

As seen in: The Best Slipcovered Sofas Are Customizable, So Go Ahead, Coordinate With Your Living Room

In January, Domino readers went all-in on the Dune, Maiden Home’s pillowy sofa. This month, Serena & Lily emerged as the next slipcovered crush. It’s decidedly more beachy in comparison to the Dune’s relaxed, lived-in look, and comes in 145 different fabric options including a sophisticated stripe. (We prefer the performance options, no matter if you like solids or patterns.) If you need a little more convincing to splurge on this piece, allow us to sweeten the deal: the frame is handmade by furniture makers in North Carolina; the materials, from the wood to the cotton-filled cushions, are all sustainably sourced; and the details, including the nail heads and leg finishes, are also up to your discretion for a truly bespoke result.

As seen in: 18 Little Luxuries to Gift Your Best Friend on Valentine’s Day

The February holidays (Valentine’s, President’s) both made appearances in our list of best-sellers. For a best friend gift on the 14th, we thought these mini heart-shaped spoons from Alessi made for an adorable option. It also helped that, throughout the month, these spoons were pretty consistently sporting a discount—right now, for example, the set of four is marked down from $37 to $29. What’s better is that these aren’t novelty items: since they’re made with 18/10 stainless steel, these are safe to stick in the dishwasher. You or your loved one can stir to their heart’s content all year-long.

P.S. While it didn’t make quite as big of a splash, we wanted to give an honorary mention to another Valentine’s gift Domino readers loved: Russ & Daughters’ chocolate caviar from Catbird, a cult-favorite jewelry retailer with surprisingly sweet home goods.

As seen in: I Skipped the Plumber and Upgraded My Shower With This $160 Kit

Smart showerheads seem to be all the rage recently. Not long after Hai came onto the scene with a bluetooth-enable option did it also start offering a Keurig-like spa infusion system, as did Kohler. But our home editor Lydia Geisel’s personal experience with Sproos! made it the clear winner among Domino readers. Not only is it easy to install (with simple, step-by-step instructions) and renter-friendly, but modular; you can stick to the minimalist route like Geisel, or really up your shower game with the Stayin’ Connected, which offers a magnetic phone deck and cup holder with drainage holes. Or, upgrade to Lookin’ Good with an anti-fog mirror and shelf to store your shampoo and conditioner.

As seen in: Rental Cabinet Knobs Aren’t Pretty, But These Cheap Swaps Are

In February, our Slack channel chats touched on the sudden appearance of lighting that looked like upside down tulle skirts. Stevens found a renter-friendly version that fits the trend on Amazon. It’s one of 30 swaps Stevens recommends (especially if you suffer from multiple unfortunate flush mount installations) for low-lift ways to make home feel more personalized and less builder-grade. This one, in particular, found its way into plenty of carts—the affordable price tag (just $40) and woven, two-tier drum shade make it a winner.

As seen in: The Best-Priced Linen Sheets and Colorful Glassware on the Internet Are at H&M Home

In January, our shopping team took a deep dive into H&M Home, pulling stock of boldly colored linens, highly rated tabletop gems, and whimsical kids’ products. The reader favorite? A cutesy, glazed porcelain pot-and-saucer donning painterly stripes in a soft pink and creamsicle orange. Reviewers report the color is lovely and the quality is even better. While it is small in size (a diameter of just 5.5 inches, and labeled as a kids product), it won’t run you more than $20, even though it features a handmade finish. It’d make the perfect home for an equally-small succulent, especially since this one includes a decently-sized drainage hole if you’re prone to overwatering.

Apparently, there are quite a few martini drinkers among Domino readers. This teeny-tiny table, just big enough to fit a cocktail, was one of your biggest purchases in February. The three-legged, metal pedestal from Creative Co-Op has an antique vibe thanks to wrought iron. It’s currently 59% off, and will only set you back $74. “The perfect table for a small space!,” one reviewer writes. “Took maybe 30 seconds to put together and is super sturdy and looks great. I wish I could order more.” Others also speak to its sturdiness; even an owner who lives in an older home with less-than-level flooring was impressed by its lack of wobbliness.

As seen in: Gallery Walls Are Cool, But Do You Have a Plate Wall?

We love the tradition of hanging plates for decorative reasons. And if you’re investing in a pricey, hand-painted, or one-of-a-kind design, you don’t want to chance it falling. Domino readers eager to give the look a try also needed trusty hangers, considering this set from Amazon was a February best-seller. Backed by 1,000-plus positive reviews, all you have to do is peel off the back and let the adhesion cure before hanging. This technique keps any screws and hooks hidden.

This multi-shelf coffee table offers open storage without the visual clutter in the form of clear, tempered glass and a mirrored bottom. Readers sprung for this style most often over the other 23 suggestions for its classic look (hello, goes-with-anything brass frame) and discounted price tag (it’s nearly $100 off for a limited time). While compact in stature, you’re technically working with three surfaces to layer all your decor. No wonder it’s a bestseller at West Elm.

As seen in: Call It a Bar Cart or a Console—This $57 Amazon Find Is ’70s Chic

“Surprisingly nice-looking,” “vintage vibes,” and “’70s chic”—these are all the ways our shopping team described this shockingly affordable, surprisingly roomy bar cart. While it hasn’t been long since we first spotted this versatile storage piece and shared it with Domino readers, it’s already being snatched up in droves. With the 5% off coupon currently being offered from Amazon, this two-tiered rolling shelf only costs $57. That means you tap it for its intended design (bottles of bubbly, shot glasses, and the like) or take a page from other Amazon buyers, who’ve put the 80-pound-capacity claim to the test by corralling kitchen pantry overflow, crafting supplies, and an ever-expanding plant collection.

The ‘90s have made a comeback—smiley faces, baggy jeans, and now, Pottery Barn’s closet collection Hold Everything. When we broke the news a couple weeks ago, Domino readers were among those who  had clearly missed the offering since it was retired in 2006. With 66 different items to custom-configure your own system, there’s something for a narrow entryway closet or a massive walk-in. If you can’t wait for the customizable configurations to come back in stock, Temple Street is a great runner-up collection. For now, our deputy shopping editor Samantha Weiss-Hills is also eager to give it a try, so stay tuned for her full review.
